Calling his people away from Ba‘l

Ilyas is identified among the messengers and confronts his people about calling upon Ba‘l while abandoning Allah, the Creator and Lord of their forefathers. His appeal questions the object of their devotion rather than simply criticizing a foreign custom.
They reject him, while Allah’s chosen servants are excepted from the outcome described for the rejecters. The account preserves an honorable remembrance of Ilyas and praises his believing service. Surah Al-An‘am also names him among righteous figures.
The Qur’anic account does not give a detailed childhood, a complete itinerary, or an exact date. Later identifications with places and figures require attribution rather than automatic acceptance. The collection’s visual portrait therefore centers the call, resistance, faithful servants, and honorable remembrance. A short narrative can still make the mission clear without pretending to supply details absent from the sources.
