Building the ark

Nuh is informed that no more of his people will believe beyond those who already have. He is commanded to build the ark under Allah’s care and instruction. As he works, members of the community mock him. The building therefore takes place within the same moral conflict as the earlier preaching: the people dismiss what they do not accept.
When the appointed sign appears, Nuh is instructed to take aboard pairs, his household with stated exceptions, and the believers. The Qur’an says that only a few have believed with him. His family relationship does not remove the exceptions specified in the command.
The sources do not give a construction blueprint with dimensions, a surveyed launch site, or a list of every animal. The illustration is an atmospheric vessel landscape rather than a reconstruction. The essential sequence is instruction, construction, ridicule, the sign, and embarkation under Allah’s command.
