Maryam and the announcement

Maryam withdraws from her family, and Allah’s messenger appears to announce the gift of a pure son. She expresses concern for her chastity and asks how she can have a child when no man has touched her. The answer directs her toward Allah’s power and the event’s place as a sign and mercy.
Surah Al ‘Imran also describes Maryam’s selection and the announcement of ‘Isa, honored in this world and the next and among those brought near. His birth is not presented as evidence that he is divine. The Qur’an repeatedly identifies him as a servant and messenger of Allah.
The collection begins with Maryam because her worship, vulnerability, and response are essential to the account. It does not depict her or an angel in the artwork. Landscapes provide mood while the narrated facts and their meaning remain in the text and source passages.
