Rejection, protection, and raising

The Qur’an rejects the claim that the opponents killed ‘Isa or crucified him, stating that the matter was made to appear to them and that they lacked certain knowledge. It then affirms that Allah raised him to Himself. These statements are central to the Islamic account and should be distinguished from other religious narratives.
The passage does not name a substitute or provide a detailed scene explaining the appearance. Classical commentators transmit differing accounts, which must be attributed and assessed rather than presented as the Qur’an’s explicit wording.
Surah Al ‘Imran also records Allah’s promise to ‘Isa concerning taking and raising him; commentary discusses the relevant language and its relation to other evidence. The core chapter therefore states what is affirmed and what is denied while avoiding a speculative reconstruction. The collection’s map does not assign coordinates to an unseen event.
