CHAPTER 02

Birth and speech in infancy

Illustrative environment; not a reconstruction of this episode
Conceptual artwork · No prophet is depicted

Maryam bears the child and withdraws to a distant place. Labor brings her to a palm trunk, and she receives reassurance and instruction concerning water and dates. She is told to refrain from ordinary conversation for a time. The account preserves both her distress and Allah’s provision.

When she returns with the child, her people challenge her. She points to him, and he speaks, identifying himself as Allah’s servant, given Scripture and made a prophet. He speaks of blessing, prayer, zakah, kindness toward his mother, and peace at birth, death, and resurrection.

The words direct the meaning of the extraordinary birth and speech: prophethood and service to Allah. The narrative is not complete if the miracle is remembered but that declaration is omitted. The site’s recap therefore pairs the birth with the message spoken in infancy rather than using the event only as a dramatic scene.
