CHAPTER 10

The Hijrah: planning, companionship, and trust

Illustrative environment; not a reconstruction of this episode
Conceptual artwork · No prophet is depicted

The narration of ‘A’ishah describes preparation for the journey with Abu Bakr, the securing of mounts, a guide, support with information and provisions, three nights in the cave, and departure along the coastal road. The account shows the work of several people rather than a solitary journey with no practical measures.

The Qur’an recalls the companion in the cave and the reassurance that Allah is with them. This assurance belongs alongside the planning; the sources do not ask readers to choose between reliance and preparation.

The conventional chronology places the Hijrah in 622 CE, and the Islamic calendar later takes the migration era as its reference. The atlas marks approximate modern Makkah and Madinah positions and uses a schematic connection. It does not claim the straight line is the traveled route. The chapter’s core sequence is danger, preparation, the cave, guided departure, and arrival among those ready to receive the community.
