The trench and the siege of Madinah

The campaign commonly called Al-Ahzab or the trench is conventionally placed in 5 AH. Madinah faces a coalition and a severe siege. The Qur’an describes fear, testing, the statements of hypocrites, and the response of believers who recognize the situation within the promises of Allah and His messenger.
Reports describe the digging of the trench and hardship during the work. The experience includes shared labor as well as public leadership. The eventual lifting of the siege is described through Allah’s intervention, including wind and forces unseen by the community.
The aftermath includes the conflict concerning Banu Qurayzah, with judgments and details preserved in separate reports that require exact attribution and context. The chapter does not erase that difficult part of the history or infer all its details from a general verse. The principal learning sequence is preparation, siege, divergent responses, deliverance, and serious consequences for the city’s agreements.
