The Night Journey and Ascension

The Qur’an recounts the night journey from the Sacred Mosque to the Farthest Mosque as a sign shown to the Prophet ﷺ. Authenticated narrations describe the ascent and encounters with earlier prophets, including Adam, ‘Isa, Yahya, Yusuf, Idris, Harun, Musa, and Ibrahim.
The prescription of prayer is central to the narration. Musa’s counsel and the Prophet’s repeated requests are part of the account of the daily prayers. The event links the final messenger’s community to the earlier prophetic history while emphasizing worship as a continuing responsibility.
The date of the event is discussed in Seerah and is not fixed by the cited verse. The site does not illustrate the heavens, angels, or divine realities. The visual aid is a source-and-relationship summary, while the atlas distinguishes geographic mosque orientation from the unseen parts of the account. Extraordinary detail is kept within the wording and assessment of the reports.
