CHAPTER 26

The Farewell Pilgrimage

Illustrative environment; not a reconstruction of this episode
Conceptual artwork · No prophet is depicted

Jabir’s narration describes the Prophet’s pilgrimage in detail, including movement through the rites and the address at ‘Arafat. The teaching includes the sanctity of life and property, rejection of practices from the pre-Islamic period, and responsibilities concerning women and households. He asks the people whether the message has been conveyed.

The conventional chronology places this pilgrimage in 10 AH. Qur’an 5:3’s declaration about the completion of religion is associated in authenticated reports with ‘Arafat during this period. Different circulated versions of a single “Farewell Sermon” can combine material from more than one report, so the source panel links the actual narration rather than presenting an unqualified composite speech.

The chapter brings worship, rights, and accountability together near the close of the mission. A visual recap follows the rites and the principal themes without depicting the Prophet or inventing a photographic reconstruction of the gathering.
